About Joan

In 1976 I heeded the call of clear sunny blue skies, warm weather, impressive mountain views and desert vistas and moved to Arizona from the Jersey shore. I spent most of my growing up years traveling extensively with my military family which evolved into 11 years working for the Department of Defense. In 1976 I had an opportunity to work as a Program Analyst at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. My first exposure to Arizona was the blue, blue clear skies and being able to see the stars at night! I was hooked! Three years later my next promotion was taking me to Washington, DC. The grip of the Arizona desert was too strong. I decided to stay and moved my family to Tucson. I realized that if I missed the snow I could drive up to Mt. Lemmon and ski (1 hour drive). If I missed the ocean I could drive to Rocky Point (3.5 hour drive). If I missed the traffic I could drive to Phoenix. I had it all!

I spent the next years working for Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 computer companies. I was again traveling extensively. However, I realized that I wanted to spend more time interfacing with people and less with machines and business travel. I left the corporate world and received my real estate license in 1987 and my Broker’s license in 1998.

My breadth of experience spans 30 years in sales and marketing with 21 years selling new and resale homes in Tucson. I was awarded the top Southern Arizona Home Builders’ Platinum Certificate for $10 million closed sales at the Community of Civano. Civano is Tucson’s premiere energy efficient village located in the southeast area of Tucson along the Houghton Corridor. In addition, I have been a consistent top award winning Tucson Realtor spanning my 21 years in Tucson Real Estate which included all areas of the city and county.

My real estate experience includes consulting for new home communities, marketing, sales productivity, training and team motivation for new home builders, designated broker and on-site sales. I have initiated and developed sales marketing plans and new homes sales training programs. I previously owned my own brokerage firm and was the managing member and designated broker. I am now an Associate Broker with Tierra Antigua Realty.

In 2006 I decided to become more involved in Tucson issues and became a member of the Greater Tucson Leadership. The mission of Greater Tucson Leadership is to inspire, develop and promote leadership in greater Tucson. This has afforded me the opportunity to become face to face with Tucson issues that will affect my clients and their real estate needs.

My extensive travel while growing up and in business has provided me with empathy for people who are moving to Tucson and their need to get settled quickly. I know how to get that done. I was afforded incomparable corporate sales and marketing training which has allowed me to better meet my clients’ needs in marketing and selling their homes. My training in real estate and while working for the Department of Defense and the corporate world has provided me with the background to cut through red tape, negotiate effectively and get things done! My 30 years in Tucson gives me the knowledge of the market that makes that possible. My experience, education, and my years as a Tucson Real Estate Professional are what I will put to use for YOU - my client! I will listen. I will care about YOU, YOUR needs and YOUR time.
