We were driving around when we noticed Joan’s open house sign and thought: “why not?” We went in to take a look and she had the house staged wonderfully, knew everything there was to know about the house and the mechanical workings of the house and had HOA information to boot. She even had pictures, showing the construction of the house. She offered us a notebook with information about Civano neighborhood, as well as property information, closing information and more. "I was lucky enough to have met Joan Tober through my interest in buying a home 4 years ago. A few years ago we moved to Civano in Tucson, Arizona. We became acquainted with Joan Tober and found her to be a very friendly person and easy to talk to. One weekend we went on a walk, and noticed an open house sign. It was house we had liked so went to the door. Joan welcomed us and, even though we told her we weren’t in the market for a house she gave us a nice tour. Later, when we decided to sell our Civano home, we called and asked her to list our house. She came right over and listed it immediately. The next morning the sign was barely up when she called and told us she had someone interested in looking at our house. Later she called and said their realtor was tied up and asked if it was OK with us, she would show the house. She brought them over and gave them a comprehensive tour. Later that afternoon she called and told us the house was sold! During the closing, she was always very professional and knowledgeable about the process. She is a very qualified Realtor, dependable and honest, who did an excellent job of promoting our home. We would not hesitate to ask her for any type of assistance in the future. I am writing this letter to commend a Tierra Antigua Realtor who worked tirelessly on our behalf to find us a home to buy here in Tucson. That realtor is Joan Tober. My husband and I moved to Tucson 8 months ago from south of Boston. We have been waiting several years to move to Tucson and had some ideas about what we hoped to find for housing. Ms. Tober spent hours matching our ideas with listings and house tours, she listened to us and most importantly she guided us with her vast knowledge of local builders, building materials, and properties. We worked with Ms. Tober when we initially arrived, then went off on our own calling agents with whom properties were listed. Doing it “our way”, trying our hand, learning as we went. This included a foreclosure property that our bid was accepted on only to find out that when we did the background check (we did it, not the agent who sent the listing) that the property was non-conforming and we would have been in quite a bind had we continued. This situation would never have proceeded had Ms. Tober been our agent. She is a true advocate for her client, she goes above and beyond to do all background checks on properties, to push for information that may not be quite forthcoming to the uninformed or naïve (as we were). The house that we purchased is one that we will be very happy in. It is a listing that Ms Tober found and suggested to us. She never lost her optimism or energy in our home search, she always had the time and was extremely timely in her response to our questions and needs. I feel certain that we would still be looking for a house had we not put our trust and home search in her very capable hands.
